Dear vintage jewelry lovers,

During our recent sourcing trip to London, we spent a magical day exploring the iconic Portobello Market—a place bursting with history, character, and rare finds. Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, Portobello is a collector’s dream, with rows of stalls and shops offering everything from antique trinkets to heirloom-quality jewelry.

A Little History

Portobello Market has been a part of London life since the 19th century, originally starting as a humble fresh food market for local residents. By the mid-20th century, it evolved into one of the world's most famous antique markets. Today, it stretches over two miles and welcomes thousands of visitors every week, especially on Saturdays when antique dealers line the streets. The market’s mix of vintage goods, one-of-a-kind collectibles, and local color makes it a vibrant destination for treasure hunters from around the globe.

One of our favorite stops was the eye-catching Alice’s, a red-fronted vintage shop known for its whimsical displays and eclectic inventory. The energy on the street was infectious—shoppers, collectors, and curious wanderers all mingling under moody skies and the charm of old London bricks.

Amid the bustle, we uncovered a small but stunning collection of antique rings that now have a new home in our shop. Highlights include:

  • A romantic double pearl bypass ring in yellow gold

  • A richly detailed garnet ring with seed pearl accents, brimming with Edwardian elegance

  • A starburst cluster with glowing opals and rubies, delicate and full of life

  • A playful ruby and pearl combination, dating to the late 1800s

Each piece was sourced with care and tells its own story—just waiting to become part of yours.

We also stopped by Hickmet Fine Arts, where a bronze Salvador Dalí sculpture caught our eye—an unexpected moment of surreal beauty among antique treasures.

If you’ve never been, Portobello Market is a must-visit for any vintage enthusiast. But if hopping across the pond isn’t in your plans, don’t worry—many of the beautiful rings we sourced are now available online.

Take a peek at our latest arrivals and stay tuned—more gems from our UK trip are still to come.

Warmly,

Tanya & Jason
