Antique 9ct Gold Seven Garnet Ring · Edwardian Garnet Band · Size 6.5
An antique 9ct gold garnet ring set with seven round faceted garnets across the finger. The rich red garnets measure approximately 3.25 mm each and are individually claw-set in a gently curved row.
The setting is particularly nice on this one. Beneath the garnets is an ornate pierced gallery with repeating scroll-shaped openings, continuing into decorative openwork shoulders before narrowing to the polished gold shank. From the side, the garnets sit relatively low to the finger despite the elaborate setting.
The ring carries a series of traditional hallmarks inside the band, although the date letter is too indistinct for us to read confidently. The gold has also been tested as 9ct. Based on the construction, setting and overall style, we would date the ring to approximately 1900–1915, late Victorian to Edwardian period.
