Antique Mother of Pearl Shirt Studs · Gold Front · Original Box · Edwardian

$135.00Price

A charming antique group of mother-of-pearl dress shirt studs presented in their original fitted box. Three of the studs form a matching set, each with a round mother-of-pearl face surrounded by a narrow gold-tone rim.

A fourth stud is included but does not match the other three. It is slightly larger and is missing its decorative face or inset, leaving the metal front exposed.

The original green velvet-lined presentation box is marked inside the lid “Warranted Best Quality” and “Gold Fronts,” along with a trade mark. “Gold fronts” was historically used for jewellery with a layer or facing of gold over another metal rather than solid gold throughout, so these are not being represented as solid gold.

A lovely surviving piece of antique men's formalwear, particularly appealing with its original fitted box.
