Vintage 10K Gold Garnet Ring · Pear Cut Bypass Solitaire · Size 7.75
A vintage 10K yellow gold garnet ring featuring a rich red pear-cut garnet framed by an elegant sweeping bypass setting.
The approximately 6 × 4 mm garnet is faceted to catch the light while retaining the deep wine-red colour characteristic of garnet. Its pear shape gives the solitaire a little more distinction than a traditional round stone, with the pointed end following the vertical line of the ring.
The setting is particularly attractive from the side. Rather than placing the garnet in a conventional straight solitaire mount, the yellow gold shoulders curve toward the stone in opposing directions, creating a fluid bypass design. Slender openwork sections along the shoulders keep the profile light and delicate, while the four-prong setting leaves much of the garnet visible.
At approximately 1.8 grams, this is a fine, lightweight vintage ring with a low, wearable profile. The combination of warm yellow gold and deep red garnet makes it an easy everyday piece while the pear-shaped stone and sculptural shoulders give it a little more character than a simple solitaire.
The interior is marked 10K with additional marks, and the gold has also been tested as 10K.
