A striking vintage 10K yellow gold ring featuring a large oval goldstone cabochon filled with brilliant coppery sparkle.
 
The 12 × 10 mm stone has a smooth, highly domed surface with countless reflective copper-coloured flecks that come alive as the ring moves. Its rich reddish-brown colour pairs beautifully with the warm yellow gold.
 
The setting is especially attractive. The goldstone is held by four prongs and surrounded by a delicate looped scalloped border, creating an almost lace-like frame around the stone. An open gallery beneath the cabochon and split shoulders give the setting additional detail while allowing the substantial stone to remain the focus.
 
The interior of the band is stamped SIFFARI 10K.
 
Goldstone is a man-made glass traditionally produced with suspended copper crystals, responsible for its distinctive shimmering appearance. Although not a natural gemstone, vintage goldstone jewellery has a wonderful character of its own and has been used in jewellery for centuries.
