Vintage 10K Gold Lab-Created Ruby Ring · Emerald Cut Ruby · Size 8.25

A substantial vintage 10K yellow gold ring centred with a vivid red lab-created ruby in a rectangular emerald cut.
 
The ruby measures approximately 8 x 8.75 mm and is held in a half bezel setting. Its open-backed construction allows light through the stone, highlighting its saturated crimson-red colour and geometric step-cut faceting.
 
The gold setting has a particularly handsome vintage construction. Broad, angular shoulders rise toward the ruby, with stepped detailing beneath the setting and a substantial polished shank. At 5.4 grams, it has considerably more presence than a typical lightweight gemstone ring and would work equally well as a statement ring or an alternative birthstone ring.
 
The inside of the band is stamped 10K alongside an unidentified maker’s mark.
