The ring has a traditional half-round profile, with a smooth, undecorated exterior measuring approximately 7.15 mm wide. Its rounded surface transitions into clean, slightly defined edges, while the interior is polished for comfortable wear. The interior bears an oval maker's stamp reading "Montgomery Bros. Los Angeles," accompanied by a separate maple leaf emblem and a 14K gold hallmark. Established in Los Angeles in 1881, Montgomery Brothers became one of Southern California's most prominent early jewellery houses. Founded by James A. Montgomery and later joined by his brother George, the firm was celebrated for its fine jewellery, diamonds, watches, and silverware. By the 1920s, Montgomery Bros. proudly advertised itself as Los Angeles' oldest jeweller, operating an elegant flagship store with its own jewellery manufacturing department. The business remained active until 1935, making surviving pieces bearing its name an interesting part of early Los Angeles jewellery history.
 
An additional hand-engraved inscription reads "H.G. to F.W.," preserving the initials of the individuals associated with the ring. The lettering is executed in flowing cursive script, typical of traditional personal jewellery engravings.
