Vintage 14K White Gold Kyanite Quartz Three Stone Cocktail Ring, Size 9

A wonderfully unusual vintage 14K white gold ring featuring a striking oval blue kyanite cabochon flanked by two sparkling pear-shaped clear quartz stones.
 
The centre stone is the star of this piece. Its beautiful denim-to-deep blue colouring is filled with characteristic-looking natural striations, inclusions and variations in tone, giving the stone wonderful depth and an almost painterly appearance. Polished as a smooth oval cabochon, the kyanite has a soft glow rather than the brilliant sparkle of a traditionally faceted gemstone.
 
Two faceted pear-shaped quartz stones flank the centre, their points directed outward to create an elegant and beautifully balanced three-stone design. The contrast between the softly polished blue cabochon and the bright faceted side stones gives the ring a particularly distinctive look.
 
The gemstones sit in an open, architectural gallery with split shoulders leading into a polished white gold band. The setting has a lovely vintage presence while remaining graceful on the hand.
