Vintage 9K Gold Amethyst Ring · Round Solitaire · Split Shoulder · Size 7

A vintage 9K yellow gold ring set with a round faceted purple amethyst measuring approximately 6.95 × 7.15 mm.
 
The amethyst is held in a raised multi-claw setting surrounded by a softly sculpted circular gold frame. Open split shoulders meet the setting on either side, giving the ring a more distinctive profile than a traditional solitaire while allowing plenty of light around the stone.
 
The amethyst is a medium purple with visible shifts from lavender to deeper violet as the facets catch the light. The back of the setting is open, and the lower portion of the amethyst extends very slightly beyond the gold gallery. This isn't noticeable when the ring is worn; it allows the stone to make slight contact with the finger, which also helps keep the ring from rotating.
 
The gold has been tested electronically as 9K - no hallmarks visible.
