A vintage handmade sterling silver ring set with a richly banded oval malachite cabochon. The stone displays the characteristic layered greens of malachite, with fine curved bands running across its polished surface.
 
The malachite is held in a simple full bezel that allows the stone to remain the focus of the design. The silverwork has a striking geometric construction, with broad stepped shoulders rising toward the centre setting before narrowing into the band. Viewed from the side, the squared architectural profile gives the ring a distinctly modernist character.
 
The underside of the setting has a textured, hand-worked finish, further reflecting the individually made construction of the piece.
