A wonderfully unusual antique silver necklace and matching earrings featuring intricate dimensional floral rosettes.
The necklace is composed of alternating small textured flower links and larger three-dimensional flower clusters, each carefully assembled from numerous individually formed silver elements. The matching drop earrings repeat the same large floral motif, making this a beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find complete jewellery set.
The silver has developed a lovely naturally aged patina that highlights the intricate texture and detail of the flowers. Viewed closely, the individual elements have faceted, star-like centres that give the entire piece an almost sparkling appearance despite being made entirely from silver.
The set is unmarked and has been acid tested as silver. Its exact origin is unknown. The handmade construction, traditional hook clasp and workmanship suggest an older piece, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
