Antique 9ct Gold Black Enamel & Pearl Pendant · Edwardian Articulated Drop
An intricate antique 9ct gold pendant dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period, beautifully detailed with hand-engraved decoration, black enamel accents and a tiny seed pearl.
The pendant is constructed in several sections, giving it subtle movement when worn. A shaped upper section is decorated with fine engraving and black enamel, followed by an open oval element with a small pearl at its centre. Suspended within the lower portion is an articulated bell-shaped drop, richly engraved and accented with further black enamel scrollwork.
Despite measuring only 26.7 mm long, there is an impressive amount of workmanship packed into this little pendant. The combination of warm gold, crisp engraved surfaces and contrasting black enamel is particularly striking.
The chain shown is for display and is not included.
