Vintage 10K Gold Heart Amethyst & Diamond Pendant · Illusion Setting

A vintage 10K gold pendant centred with a faceted heart-shaped amethyst in a rich purple colour. The amethyst is secured in yellow gold prongs and framed by an ornate pointed surround that gives the pendant a starburst-like outline.
 
At the top of the setting is a single small diamond. The surrounding white-metal detailing is cut and shaped in an illusion-style design, reflecting light around the amethyst and creating the appearance of additional diamond accents without overwhelming the centre stone.
 
The pendant has an open back behind the amethyst and a split V-shaped yellow gold bail. Petite at just over 15 mm including the bail/jump ring, it would make a pretty everyday amethyst pendant or February birthstone piece.
