A beautiful matched pair of antique 14K gold brooches dating to the early 20th century, each combining vivid turquoise-blue enamel with a delicate row of seed pearls.
 
The brooches have an elegant elongated navette shape, their smooth blue enamel surfaces framing narrow gold centres set with seven graduated seed pearls. The largest pearls sit toward the middle, tapering toward either end, while a fine beaded gold border provides a subtle finishing detail.
 
Their streamlined shape is wonderfully distinctive, particularly when the two are worn together. Small matched brooches such as these could be worn in a variety of ways — side by side on a collar or lapel, positioned separately, or used to fasten lightweight fabric.
