Antique 15K Gold Jet & Seed Pearl Flower Brooch · Victorian

An unusual late Victorian floral brooch crafted in 15K gold, Jet (fossilized wood) and seed pearls. The flower is formed from five carved dark petals surrounding an intricate gold centre, with fine gold stems radiating outward and set with numerous creamy seed pearls. A larger pearl sits at the centre in a raised claw setting, while small polished gold beads punctuate the design.
 
The dark petals have been individually shaped with softly scalloped edges, creating a dimensional flower against the warm yellow gold. A curved jet stem extends beneath the blossom and is finished with a gold end cap.
 
The reverse reveals the substantial gold backing and original-style long pin fitting with an open hook catch. At 8.2 grams, this is a beautifully constructed antique brooch with a particularly striking combination of dark jet, warm gold and pearls.
