Vintage Raine 18K Gold-Plated Sterling Silver Shoe Brooch · Pearl & CZ

A wonderfully detailed vintage shoe brooch by Raine, crafted in sterling silver with an 18K gold-plated finish, cultured pearls and sparkling clear CZ accents.
 
Designed as a miniature right high-heeled shoe, the brooch has a sculptural three-dimensional form with a pointed toe, shaped heel and open strap detailing. Four creamy cultured pearls run along one side of the upper, while small clear CZ stones are individually set across the straps and toe. Raised beadwork and fine moulded details complete the design.
 
The reverse is stamped 925 along with the Raine maker’s mark. The underlying metal is sterling silver, while the gold surface has been electronically tested with an AuRACLE precious-metal tester and reads as 18K gold.
 
The gold finish shows some age-related wear, particularly on the reverse and around the heel, allowing areas of the sterling beneath to show through. This is visible in the photographs and is consistent with a vintage gold-plated piece.
 
A substantial and unusual figural brooch with a great combination of gold, pearls and sparkle.
